Stitching

Depending on the industry, a “stitching printing machine” can refer to either of two different devices: a wire stitching machine used in print finishing for bookbinding or a specialized computerized embroidery machine used in clothing decoration.

It doesn’t use thread and doesn’t print, despite the name. A saddle stitcher is a post-press finishing device that uses metal wire staples to join folded sheets of paper. Standard comic books, magazines, brochures, and thin catalogs are made exactly like this.
