Folding

In commercial printing and bookbinding, a folding printing machine, also known as a paper folder, is a post-press device that automatically folds large, flat sheets of printed paper into predetermined sizes and patterns. Brochures, magazines, newspapers, and book signatures—the folded sheets used to bind books—all require it. These machines use a system of rollers, metal plates, and sometimes mechanical folding knives to crease the paper rapidly and accurately.
